Neverness to Everness: Release Date, Beta Recap, and Gameplay Breakdown

Neverness to Everness is the newest upcoming open-world gacha game made by Hotta Studio. It's set to release in the forthcoming months, and with a successful closed beta test already done, Neverness to Everness is one of the most anticipated games this year.

NTE is set to enter as a direct competitor in the realm of open-world live service RPG games, currently dominated by Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact. NTE is the most unique and feature-packed game here because it follows a modern-day story setting, with a mix of fantasy powers. Since it's being made in Unreal Engine 5, the game already outshines every other open-world gacha game, and Hotta Studio is getting ready to make NTE the long-lasting gacha game.

There is no confirmed release date yet, but as per the devs, you can expect NTE to release around the end of 2025 or early 2026 at most. Pre-registration for the game is already live for all platforms, including PC, PS5, IOS, and Android. Hotta ran its first worldwide beta, titled Containment Test, from July 3 to 16, 2025.

• Featured combat, exploration, Esper abilities, vehicles, and basic urban systems.

Gameplay Systems

NTE’s gameplay loop is a hybrid:

Gameplay feels like a blend of Genshin, Tower of Fantasy, and Cyberpunk 2077, but focused on modern cities rather than fantasy realms. Some players are calling it “GTA Anime”.

NTE, if it's done right, could be the most iconic game of this decade. Right now, it ticks every box, and we can hope the game won't end up a failure like Tower of Fantasy. Tower of Fantasy failed because they tried to fill in too many genres at once: MMO, gacha, open world, fantasy, sci-fi, and couldn’t do one thing really well. If Neverness to Everness comes out as a solid live-service game, it could rival Wuthering Waves and Genshin in the genre.
